1927–1941 Kingdom of Sarawak One Cent Coin 14kt Gold Vermeil Paperclip Necklace
1927–1941 Kingdom of Sarawak One Cent Coin 14kt Gold Vermeil Paperclip Necklace
A timeless blend of history and modern craftsmanship, this necklace pairs an authentic Kingdom of Sarawak bronze One Cent coin, minted between 1927 and 1941, thoughtfully reimagined by Wisconsin artisan Lulu’s Petals Jewelry, with a modern 14kt gold vermeil paperclip chain handcrafted by Connecticut designer Rachel Reinhardt.
Issued during the era when the Kingdom of Sarawak was a British protectorate on the island of Borneo, the vintage coin features Charles Vyner Brooke, the kingdom's third and final Rajah, whose reign lasted from 1917 until Sarawak became a British Crown Colony in 1946. The reverse bears the inscription "Sarawak One Cent," framed by a graceful olive branch wreath. With its naturally developed patina, the coin carries the quiet beauty and character that only decades of history can create, making each necklace truly one of a kind.
The necklace measures 16 inches with a 2-inch adjustable extender for versatile styling. Handmade in the USA. Rich with history and beautiful character, it's a timeless pairing of vintage and new.
