A little piece of American tobacco history, with plenty of old-school style.
This antique Prince Albert Crimp Cut tobacco tin dates to the early 20th century and carries one particularly wonderful detail on the back: “Process Patented July 30th 1907.” The patent was for the process used to prepare Prince Albert tobacco, produced by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The classic red graphics, portrait of Prince Albert and wonderfully compact shape have the unmistakable charm of vintage American advertising. Turn it over and you’ll find the original period copy describing the tobacco as prepared for both pipe and cigarette smokers, ending with the wonderfully confident line: “Does Not Bite The Tongue.”
Today, the empty little tin feels just as good as a piece of Americana -perfect for shelf design, vintage lovers, or anyone who appreciates beautiful old packaging with a story behind it. And, naturally, it makes a handsome little holder for cash, cards, smoking paraphernalia, keepsakes or other small treasures.
