Join us for Beginner Mahjong Night at George & Fred on Thursday, Nov 13!
Mahjong is a centuries-old tile game that is steeped in history, art, and tradition, and will quickly become your newest obsession! Lisa from The Mahjong Guild will be on hand to teach you all the beginner basics: the tiles, the player card, how to deal, finding your best hand, and so much more! Gather with new friends, enjoy refreshments, and learn this fascinating game in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
$85 ticket price includes bubbles, wine, beer, sparkling wine & small bites. Lisa brings all mahjong game pieces, accessories, cards, and teaching aids for use during the event - no need to bring anything but yourself!
Agenda for Thursday, November 13
- 5:30 - 6:00pm: Player arrival, shop the store, mingle, find a seat, enjoy some small bites and bubbles, wine, beer & sparkling water
- 6:00 - 7:00pm: Brief history of mahjong, learn the tiles, objective of the game, learn about beginner hands
- 7:00 - 7:15pm: Refreshment break
- 7:15 - 8:30/9:00pm: Deal, Charleston, and game play
