The ONE EIGHTY™ - handcrafted art book
Artist-designed. Hand-created. Built to last. MM / 134 LB / 294 GSM
Created by artist and One Eighty founder Dakota Franz, the ONE EIGHTY™ book is an artist-designed, hand-crafted art journal made with intention—and defiance. It lies flat when open and STAYS OPEN (no fight, no fuss). The responsibly made 134 lb, 294 GSM paper is thick, smooth, and ready for whatever medium you throw at it. Dry media will burnish, erase, and blend beautifully. Ink won’t feather. Paint and markers won’t bleed. It’s the kind of paper that shows up and holds its ground.
Born from frustration with mass-produced sketchbooks—flimsy paper, bad binding, and pretty covers that lie—Dakota built the ONE EIGHTY™ book as a rebellion. A lot of so-called “affordable” sketchbooks are just…a mess. The paper rips, creases, or literally flutters away with the slightest breeze. Ink feathers, smears, or bleeds right through. Pastels won’t blend, pencils won’t erase. And don’t be fooled by a pretty cover—it’s just a distraction from what really matters: the paper. And most of it? Thin, weak, poorly bound, and completely unworthy of your work. Honestly, it’s a waste of money—a fancy name slapped on a terrible tool.
The ONE EIGHTY™ book is for the artist who’s tired of tools that buckle under pressure. It’s honest. It’s durable. And it’s designed to honor the work inside, not just dress it up. Because when it comes to your ideas, the surface matters. This isn’t just a sketchbook. It’s a tool for thinking, creating, and not settling.
A better book—for artists, by one. The One Eighty. Against the rest.

134 lb, 294 GSM paper is a very heavy, premium paper—great for mixed media, markers, ink, paint, and heavy dry media. It's thicker than typical watercolor paper and won’t bleed, buckle, or tear easily. It’s durable enough to handle multiple layers of media and aggressive erasing.
