A charming little piece of vintage German porcelain, this petite Bremer & Schmidt “Vieux Paris” bowl has the romantic character of old-world French porcelain with the distinctive craftsmanship of German production.
The “Vieux Paris” mark - French for “Old Paris” - was used by Bremer & Schmidt on porcelain made for the export market. Rather than being an antique French piece, this is a later German interpretation of the elegant Vieux Paris style, with its graceful proportions and decorative European feel.
At just 3¼ inches across and 2½ inches high, it is the perfect little size for holding sugar cubes, wrapped sweets, jewelry, a few rings, or other small treasures. It would also be lovely tucked into a collection of vintage china or displayed on a bedside table.
