Vintage Large Iridescent White Beer Stein Circa 1970
Vintage Large Iridescent White Beer Stein Circa 1970
This oversized vintage stein, dated 1970 with a handwritten date on the bottom, is finished in a luminous white glaze with a subtle mother-of-pearl iridescent sheen and silver accents that catches the light. Standing at an impressive 15 inches tall with a 6" base, it moves far beyond its original purpose - less barware, more object.
Inspired by traditional European beer steins but made in the U.S. during the 1960s–70s, pieces like this were designed for both use and display - a moment when everyday objects carried a bit more personality. What makes this one stand out is its scale and detail. The removable top is a man playing an instrument while a woman looks on, trusty dog at their feet. The handle turns into a fox with an elongated tail on a branch. The sides depict deer and a man in the woods.
It works effortlessly on a shelf, a console, or layered into a collected space. A cool statement piece of a beer stein far more interesting than most.
