Step back into brewing history with this vintage ceramic Schlitz beer stein, adorned with the iconic slogan “The Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous.” Crafted from ceramic, this piece flatters any bar cart or collection with its embossed globe logo and scenic detailing. Standing at 9.5″ tall with room for more than one Schlitz, this cool stein is in excellent collectible condition - no chips, cracks, or major wear (sold as-is).

The Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company, founded in Milwaukee in 1849, gained early renown for introducing the industry-standard brown bottle in 1912, preserving flavor by protecting beer from UV light. Contrary to romantic myths, Schlitz did not donate beer to Chicago after the Great Fire of 1871, but the company’s aggressive early marketing did include building "tied-house” taverns throughout Chicago, often with the Schlitz logo molded into the building façade, such as the beloved Schuba’s Tavern.

Whether displayed as part of breweriana, local Chicago/Milwaukee memorabilia, or mid-century advertising art, this stein offers more than beverage utility - it’s a piece of Americana. A conversation starter grounded in history, it carries echoes of Schlitz’s legacy and its architectural footprint on Chicago’s social landscape.
