A lovely little piece of mid-century German porcelain, this vintage Seltmann Weiden “Renate” creamer has the elegance of classic Bavarian tableware, in white with silver and gold accents.
Made by Seltmann Weiden in Bavaria, the Renate pattern is known for its clean white porcelain and understated detailing - a beautiful example of the refined, unfussy side of mid-century German design. Seltmann Weiden has been producing fine porcelain in Bavaria, Germany since 1910; this Renate piece dates approximately to the mid-20th century, circa 1950s–1970s.
Originally made for serving cream or milk alongside coffee or tea, it also has plenty of charm as a little vase for a few delicate stems or simply displayed with a collection of vintage tableware. Sometimes the simplest pieces are the ones you reach for most.
