Commissioned by the Stroh Brewery Company, this vintage Stroh's beer stein bears the bold red and gold Stroh’s lion crest and the slogan “America’s Only Fire-Brewed Beer” under the Stroh's name - a nod to the brewery’s signature method of boiling beer in direct-fired kettles, a practice dating back to its founding. One side has the saying "Our family's 200 year brewing heritage assures you of consistently superior quality beer" and the other side shows a horse-drawn wagon of beer barrels. At the bottom in red caps "THE STROH BREWERY COMPANY." Founded in 1850 in Detroit, Michigan, Stroh’s began as Lion’s Head Brewery, started by German immigrant Bernhard Stroh. Known for its distinctive fire-brewing technique, Stroh’s became one of America’s largest independent breweries, with strong roots in the Midwest, particularly Detroit and Chicago. By the 1980s, Stroh’s was among the largest beer producers in the U.S., remembered for iconic advertising and community ties.
Likely a late 1970s–1980s issue, this stein is in excellent vintage condition and stands 7.5" tall. For collectors, beer lovers, story tellers.
